Peace.. Peace is something you find when you can take a deep breath and still exhale. This picture is where I find peace in the midst of life. I have spoken with many people when they have that moment where they all of a sudden “have peace”.
Growing up my mother had another word for peace.. the “sweet spot”. She told me when I was younger that no matter where I ended up in life, I needed to find my sweet spot or my peace in life. She would always tell me that you will know when you have arrived when you are in that sweet spot.
Where is your sweet spot? Where are you most at peace? It can be listening to music, writing, taking photos, at work, with people, your girlfriend or boyfriend, someone you love, it can be whatever you want it to be but you need to have a sweet spot in your life to keep you going. It’s the moment when your heart is at rest.
I captured this image in South Carolina while standing on the balcony with my sweetheart last spring. I remember both of us just sitting in silence as we let the crashing waves of the ocean wash every worry and concern away. Walking along the ocean is such a humbling moment in time where you feel so small in comparison to the rest of the world. Things don’t matter as much. Ask yourself, the things in your life that are keeping you up at night, is it worth it? Go find your sweet spot, your solace, your peace.
